Theta Labs and FlyQuest launch AI esports chatbot

Theta Network, a decentralized cloud for artificial intelligence and blockchain, has teamed up with FlyQuest to launch a customized AI esports chatbot.

FlyQuest, a top esports organization and leading League of Legends team in North America, will leverage Theta EdgeCloud to power its agentic AI chatbot dubbed a.PHiD, Theta Network (THETA), said in an announcement.

The bot, available on the FlyQuest website and via Discord integration, will offer answers to fan inquiries, including details on rosters, upcoming matches, and results.

Commenting on the collaboration, FlyQuest chief executive officer Brian Anderson said the launch of a.PHiD will revolutionize the esports team’s fan experiences. This will allow the organization to up its fan engagement – be it through one-on-one interactions or broader involvements.

The partnership with FlyQuest comes as the Theta Labs team announced an update to its EdgeCloud, a hybrid computing platform for artificial intelligence, video and rendering apps. EdgeCloud leverages high-performance cloud-based graphics processing units, including Nvidia’s latest GPUs and has partnered with Google Cloud among other industry giants.

In its latest update, Theta Network said the platform now supports AI mobile browsers and video dashboard. EdgeCloud is also now optimized for both iOS and Android, with developers able to access features such as model training, agentic AI, analytics and payments.

Theta Labs unveiled EdgeCloud in May 2024 and has seen its adoption skyrocket in the past few months.

Part of the momentum has come within the academia and enterprise ecosystems, with Theta attracting partnerships from leading institutions such as Seoul National University, University of Oregon, and recently Ajou University. These institutions are leveraging the hybrid cloud GPU infrastructure for research across AI.

Theta EdgeCloud supports Theta Fuel (TFUEL), fiat and USDC payments.
